What we do

Hearthstone is run by The Parker Family Trust, a private trust that works to enable community access to ancient skills and supports healthy thriving ecosystems and food sovereignty through education.

This work is achieved through

The access of a range of businesses on our site at Parawera who support ancient skills - i.e. woodworking, food production, herbal medicine
Community facilities available on site for workshops, a resource library, and other community supportive actions. Please contact us to book.
Educational courses and for young people to support certification into skilled work.
Community events that are supportive of the above aims.

Who we work with

Hearthstone works with the people of Aotearoa, those who live on this land, recent and ancient. By supporting all New Zealanders, we can build healthy, thriving communities who are reconnected with the land.

We care about national outcomes, but we work locally. Collaboration with like minded people all over New Zealand is important, however our work focus is on the Waikato region, believing that other regions should also set up and support local initiatives to allow smaller scale, local support, which builds thriving, custom solutions rather than faceless national campaigns. A healthy, thriving community anywhere, needs detailed, local attention, supported by the families who are seen around town in those regions.
